Breakfast is between 8 and 10am at African Ubuntu and is a light and healthy way to kick start your day with the option of different cereals, toast and spreads. Lunch will generally be a healthy sandwich to keep you fuelled for the day. Dinner will be whatever  scrumptious meal is cooking at the backpackers with the regular Braai or Potjie as traditional South African fodder! Snacks are easy to obtain with a grocery store a two minute walk from the house and a large fully-equipped kitchen available for your use. You'll probably find yourself sampling the local flavours at some of Jeffrey's Bay's fantastic restaurants where resident chokka (squid) is order of the day.

We have worked hard to ensure the lowest possible fee for the best possible experience and opportunity for you to make a contribution to the development of rural South Africa.

Home for the duration of your stay is at African Ubuntu easy living lodge - rated as number one backpackers in Jeffrey's Bay on Tripadvisor. You have the choice to stay in shared rooms or private. With panoramic views of the sunrise and surf, our balcony is the ideal place to munch on your breakfast or enjoy one of our traditional South African braais armed with a beer and new friends. After a day's hard work in the community, you can relax with a book in one of our garden hammocks or simply chill out and watch a good movie in one of our cosy lounges.
